NHL Betting: Second-Round Playoff Outlook

With the Canadians clubs now bounced from the NHL playoffs there are just American teams left in the hunt for the Stanley Cup as the second round of the postseason gets underway.

In the Eastern Conference the New York Rangers survived a tight series with the Ottawa Senators in the first round, winning that best-of-seven set in seven games.

New York will now face the Washington Capitals in their second-round series on the NHL betting lines; Washington got past Boston in seven games in the first round.

The other Eastern Conference semifinal series has the Philadelphia Flyers taking on the New Jersey Devils. Philadelphia beat Pittsburgh in six games in the first round, while New Jersey got past Florida in seven games.

After dispatching the top-seeded Vancouver Canucks in just five games in the first round the Los Angeles Kings will try to pay off on NHL betting lines once again in their second-round matchup.

The Kings will be up against the St. Louis Blues in the second round; the Blues got past the Sharks in five games in the first round.

The Nashville Predators and Phoenix Coyotes will then face off in the other Western Conference semifinal series. Nashville topped Detroit in five games in the first round, and Phoenix took care of Chicago in six games to pay off on the NHL betting lines.
